India Share was set up to advance education and to help alleviate poverty and ill health in India – and primarily to support Concerns Universe Foundation, or Concerns, in Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore) in the state or Karnataka in South India. It currently receives 95% of the funds raised by India Share. Concerns works with marginalised, economically disadvantaged women, young people and children in slum areas of Bengaluru. India Share was set up in Manchester and is mainly active in Manchester and Liverpool, but also has supporters in other parts of the UK.
India Share is a registered charity under the UK Charity Commission (Charity Commission number 1152529).
It was established on 13 June 2013 by people who had previously worked together to raise funds and support the work of Concerns Universe Foundation.
