What India Share does is Fund Raising. This is the most crucial work that we do. If we fail, Concerns would struggle to continue all the life changing work it undertakes – and women and young people could be left without the option of a new and productive life.
India Share sends regular sums of money to Concerns in India to support their vital work in education, health and sustainable development. We have raised funds in the following ways:
- Regular fund-raising dinners
- Garden party
- Producing goods to sell at charitable events
- New to you clothing sale
- Money raising challenges e.g. long distance walks, climbing Kilimanjaro!
- Beneficiary in wills
- Monthly donations from supporters There are many other fund raising possibilities supporters might try in the future!
- Organise a fundraising event – for instance:

Fund raising dinners are another important way to raise money. Here Ulka, the current chair of India Share, is shown preparing some of her delicious dishes with help from Catriona. The tables are set for the lucky diners, who will be supporting India Share later in the evening. Only about 20 places on each evening, so make sure you book your place quickly, a minimum donation is £20 per person is required. Place: 1a Stockton Road ,Chorlton cum Hardy , M21 9FB.

The annual garden party is an afternoon of tea and delicious home baked scones and cakes, with entertainment by dancers and various musicians. People like to linger in the sunshine in Catriona’s lovely garden.
One supporter took on the challenge of Kilimanjaro, nearly 20,000 feet, to raise money for Concerns. Here she is at the summit.
Even the meetings of India Share can be highly enjoyable. Pictured below are supporters making angels for sale at Christmas events after the November meeting and partying following the December meeting.
